Floor scrubbers apply cleaning solution, scrub with pads or brushes and vacuum up dirty solution in a single pass. When you mop, you spread dirt around: on a warehouse floor, down a plant aisle or on a dealership showroom floor, the mop water turns gray in minutes and the floor dries with residue on it.
RCO owns its own heavy-duty floor scrubber. The floor scrubber works on sealed and polished concrete, picking up dust, spills and tire marks without losing the shine. On exposed concrete in manufacturing plants and warehouses it cleans the grime, oil and dust ground in by forklifts and foot traffic, and the floor will dry quickly after it passes. Our scrubber cleans large tile and resilient floors in lobbies and dealership showrooms faster and more evenly than a mop can.
Scrubbing centers around your operation. This can mean aisle to aisle in a warehouse between shifts or overnight in a showroom before your doors open. Crews will work around your racking, inventory and equipment and they will adhere to your site safety guidelines for forklift traffic and use of protective equipment.
Heavier stains, like oil spots, will be pretreated before scrubbing. Some older stains on exposed concrete may lighten but not come completely out and we will identify those before beginning.
RCO's own floor scrubber
One machine dispenses cleaning solution and then scrubs while vacuuming up the dirty water. This allows the dirt to be taken off of the floor with the water.
Built for big floors
Warehouse aisles, plant floors, showrooms and lobbies are cleaned faster and with less residual water. Learn how a scrubber works from our commercial cleaning equipment guide.

What does commercial floor scrubbing include?
Sweeping and dust control
First loose debris and dust gets swept up so the scrubber won't spread grit around.
Spot pretreatment
Oil, grease and heavy spots are pre-treated with a degreaser formulated for the floor.
Machine scrubbing
RCO's floor scrubber scrubs and extracts dirty solution in one pass.
Edges and corners
Non-machine accessible areas such as along racking, walls and equipment are hand cleaned.
Sealed and polished concrete
Selected pads and cleaning solutions that will not dull the surface.
Showroom and lobby floors
Large tile, sealed concrete and resilient floors are scrubbed overnight so they shine at opening.
Entrances and docks
Salt, slush and road grime building up at docks and entrances receive additional runs in winter.
How often floors are typically scrubbed
This is a typical routine. Your walkthrough decides the actual one for your building.
- 1Nightly or by shift
Often showroom floors, lobbies and production aisles are power scrubbed nightly or between shifts.
- 2Weekly
Warehouse aisles and plant floors are usually power scrubbed weekly with spot cleaning done throughout the week.
- 3Monthly
Low-traffic storage areas, mezzanines and back rooms typically need scrubbing monthly.
- 4Seasonally
Entrances and docks receive additional scrubbings through salt season and a deep cleaning in spring.

Signs your floors need machine scrubbing
- Mopped floors dry with a gray film
- Tire marks and forklift tracks across the aisles
- Dust kicks up when equipment moves
- Oil and fluid spots in shops and service areas
- A showroom floor that has lost its shine

Commercial floor scrubbing questions
Don’t see yours? Call 248-849-0000 and ask the people who will clean your building.
Why is a floor scrubber better than a mop?
A scrubber lays down clean solution, scrubs and picks the dirty solution back up all in the same pass. A mop recycles dirty water and deposits some of it on the floor. Scrubbing larger floors is faster and cleaner, and the floor dries faster.
Can you scrub around racking and inventory?
Yes. The machine deals with open aisles. Crews will reach in by hand and clean the edges next to racking, walls and equipment. We work with you on the route so aisles are clear when we need them.
Will oil stains come out of concrete?
New stains and surface oils typically respond well to pretreatments and scrubbing. Set-in stains that have penetrated deeply into unfinished concrete can often be lightened, but may not disappear. We will identify these at the walkthrough.
Can you work around our forklifts and shifts?
Yes. Crews will adhere to your site safety procedures, check in with your shift lead and perform scrubs when the areas have been sectioned off from traffic. Since RCO provides cleaning services 24 hours per day, scrubs can be performed on whatever shift is most convenient for you.
How is floor scrubbing priced?
Based on square footage of cleanable surfaces, condition of the floor and frequency of scrubbing. The walkthrough is complimentary. Your quote is given within 24 hours of the walkthrough.
